MAY 5th: Speaking event and discussion on ‘Faith and LGBT rights’

This event is a tribute to the courageous Ugandan LGBT activist David Kato who was a Fellow at the Centre for Applied Human Rights (University of York) in 2009/2010 and who was brutally murdered in Uganda earlier this year. The panel discussion offers an opportunity for increased dialogue among academics, human rights practitioners, the LGBT community, and faith community around the charged issues of religion and sexuality.

JULY 30th: York Pride


An annual event held in support, and to celebrate, the Lesbian, Gay, Bi-Sexual and Transgender (LGBT) community of York and the surrounding areas. This year York Pride is being held in celebration of the life of David Kato.

The main event will see a main stage line up of live music from a wide variety of bands and artists, cabaret from a range of Drag Queens, stalls run by local community groups and businesses, and many other events and activities.
